The reviews mentioning that this game took a whole lot from Hollow Knight are definitely right. So if this game is gonna copy Hollow Knight, then I'm gonna compare it to Hollow Knight in my review.

At first, I didn't really like the game. I wasn't a fan of the art style tbh and the movement and combat felt a little stiff and clunky, and the world overall didn't do a good job of telling you where to go. Also, it's weird and annoying that you spend currency to heal (rather than a soul parallel), and it takes too long (even with the chip to make it quicker) than Hollow Knight. Finally, there's only 6 fast travel stations in the whole game and movement is slower than HK so getting around/backtracking is definitely a slog. While as I went on through the game I got used to all of the above and they became less of a hindrance to the game, all of those still are shortcomings of the game.

Now onto the game's strengths. The world is pretty big and pretty well designed other than the whole not giving much direction thing. Boss fights are well designed and unique (but would be better if movement and attacking felt better). The upgrades and collectibles are fun and unique, and the game has pretty good story and lore. While all of these aspects still come up short of Hollow Knight, I would say these aspects are all pretty good.
