I played Super Metroid for the first time this year in the Spring. When Dread was announced I soon after played Fusion, AM2R, and Zero Mission. Dread is now my favorite 2D Metroid.

The design is stellar, the environment is great, the movement is fantastic and Samus has never been more dynamic. Definitely the hardest of the series, which could be divisive, but I personally enjoy that. Lots of new upgrades among returning one that spice up the series just enough. Just across the board fantastic!

My one con is a few too many instances of "not sure where to go? shoot all the blocks in the room cause some are fake" for my tastes.
