Good game, but it loses points due to the camera being so dookey that it gave me motion sickness.

The story was good but the gameplay was absolutely horrific. It's borderline unplayable without turbo.

Ending was kind of weak imo; Elijah Modnar's motivation for creating the snatchers is just extremely generic evil-villain mastermind which is kind of disappointing. However, everything that happens leading up to the end is amazing.

Huge step up from Megaman 7. I originally played this as a little kid but gave up after the first Wily stage bc of the jump slide shit. Almost a decade later, I find that the game is not as difficult as I remembered, especially thanks to the power ups which were cool. Overall, I'm very surprised how much I enjoyed this one, and honestly I think I like it better than a handful of the NES games.

I feel like they went way overboard with the power ups/items. Super confusing with the whole hour countdown and boss level system + the fact that there were literally 4 armors for X. Also not a fan of how it's something that you choose before heading into a level. It was nice being able to accumulate the armor parts as you go in the older X games, whereas in this one, realistically, you won't get to use any of the armors until the very end of the game. The exception being the fourth armor, of course, which is another weird thing. The experience of playing with X's armor just feels so cheapened when I have all parts available from the start without having to earn it whatsoever. The Falcon armor is cool I guess, but the Gaea armor is so pointless besides getting heart containers. In general, the accumulation of items and armor just felt really inorganic and like a chore.

This game also had probably the most forgettable mavericks of the series and I think the Guns n Roses references are kinda corny tbh. The cutscenes (especially the ending) were underwhelming compared to the anime cutscenes we got in X4. At the end of the day its still an X game, so I'm gonna enjoy it to a degree, it's just disappointing coming off of how amazing X4 was. The only thing X5 really has going for it is its relevance to the lore.
