hmmm... this game is alright, i will say the gunplay and platforming was very fun, and visually speaking, it is one of the prettiest games you can play currently. but the lack of substance in the story really makes it monotonous to play for me - once the novelty of the great haptic integration and pretty environments wore off, this game became a "shoot all of the enemies (there are only 5 types of enemies) until the door to the next objective magically opens".

there are some cool set pieces here and there, and some stuff to break up the gameplay loop, like the section with trudi, but those are kinda rare. i think the game was the perfect length however, for me personally it dragged but i think if this game was your style it definitely doesn't overstay its welcome. if the game went on any longer, i would've just muted it because man the dialogue was really grating after a while, ESPECIALLY the enemies, why do they all have to say one-liners?

also the conflict towards the end felt super forced so i'm glad it didn't impact the overall story too much, only lasting like 30 minutes. overall this game does a lot right, but also it just felt really bland to me. cool showcase of the PS5's SSD speed and fun movement. not much else though.
