Gameplay wise, this is by far my favorite in the series and one of my favorite turn-based games gameplay wise in general. They took alright turn-based gameplay and made it so much better from the previous game.

The story was one of reaching towards the future while not forgetting the past. Ichiban, to me, took a large step forward here and I felt that the torch was truly passed. Which was my biggest worry in a game where he was sharing the spotlight. Even with that, they still found a great balance and Kiryu's legacy was well respected. I found myself getting emotional throughout the story including during his substories which are some of the best in the series.

Phenomenal game and one of RGG's best.
