Persona 3 is gloomy, angsty and depressing - but it also brings beautiful themes, inspiring us to live life to its fullest.

The portable version updates the base game to be more like the fourth game in the series, with many quality of life changes that were not in the original P3 or P3FES. This means that many of the quirks that slowed down the PS2 versions were fixed, making the gameplay experience a lot smoother. A female protagonist was also added, whose route has different cutscenes, different music and different social links (now you can befriend everyone in the main cast!).

The only glaring negatives of this game are the lack of animated cutscenes, how sluggish and boring the month of December feels, and how some of the social links with SEES in the female route end up messing the story a little bit.

But all in all, Persona 3 Portable is still a solid 4/5, and I can't recommend it enough.
