b-but you can just play them in the vastly superior new super mario bros....

This is the superior version if you play it on the 3DS like I did.

all 3DS does is relieve your thumb from the dpad, you still have 8-way movement
also personally i like how the original looks more lol

it's funny, because i actually like playing sm64 on the switch's d-pad

@mellorine nsmb's lack of innovation in funny minigames from what sm64ds set forth is not a positive.

The circle pad is amazing for this game imo, and the switch's d-pad is decent but not amazing. The remake, to me, looks a tad better and it looks more like Mario and less like a generic N64 game.

This could've been the best version of the game or even the best remake of all time given how cool the new stuff is, but Mario 64 clearly wasn't made for Mario only moving in 8 directions.
