deadass cant decide if i prefer this or the original ps2 game
Kiwami obviously does a better job linking up with 0 especially with the added Nishiki cutscenes and it does have some nice side content (mesuking peak fiction), but I'll be honest I preferred the gameplay of ps2 Yakuza 1, didn't like how they basically copy pasted 0 except with the dragon style which I barely used cause I didn't feel like looking 10000 guides on how to continue majima everywhere. Also played it with a ps2 ost mod, new tracks just don't fit imo.
Story is the same mostly, and it still shows that they were mostly experimenting with what to do with the series at the time. You can definitely tell with how much more gangs are involved compared to future entries which usually focus on the Tojo clan and its different families.
Even if not my favorite, playing Kiwami after being done with basically all mainline RGG games as well as both Judgments felt nice and it still reminded me of why I love this series so much.
