An impossibly difficult review to write for a game. I absolutely loved the package that Naughty Dog created. The world design, factions, music, and graphics are unparalled and created a jaw-dropping audiovisual experience the entire adventure. Many of the open areas were fascinating to explore, and I wish ND would lean heavier into the open air level structure because it suits their masterclass impromptu dialogue so well. My praise of the game hits a wall with narrative decisions. Though the game got tore to shreds at its launch, I really believe that the elements presented could have been less controversial and frankly less instrusive if reordered. SPOILERS: If instead of playing as Abby for the long section in the middle, we swapped between the two girls, I think the experience would be wholly different and more profound. As is, the game was riddled with flashbacks within flashbacks and keeping track of the story became a game of whenever it was convenient to say a thing. While I really did love my time with the game, I don't think it's a game I want to replay, due to its length and HEAVY themes.
