From the gameplay, to the artstyle, to the puzzles, to the music, etc, sea of stars is lovingly crafted by jrpg fans, for jrpg fans.

The game does leave a bit to be desired in terms of move variety, but it's easily made up for in its charm and admiration for the classics.
