This is such a well balanced jrpg.
YS VIII is my first game of this franchise, and I found this to be a great entry point.
Everything about the gameplay, from the battle mechanics, the exploration, to the base building, YS VIII is full of balance. There's enough detail put into each element that makes it challenging and rewarding, but no element overstayed it's welcome.
I loved the setting. I was surprised this took place entirely on an island.
As for the narrative, it crept up on me, and next thing i know, i was very invested into these characters.
Overall, super well balanced, and definitely one of, if not the best game i played for the first time in 2021.
