so i didn't play this game for a long time because i thought the movement and the shooting was bad. but then i actually played through it when the nightdive remaster came out, and its actually really good. the movement and combat is indeed inferior to the first quake, and the levels can get a bit confusing (luckily nightdive included a compass for dumb zoomers like me) but otherwise this game is still really good.
