Technically Rock Band 3 is the better game because it introduced pro mode, but had a pretty bad set list. Rock Band 2 however is where everything lined up. The mechanics had been perfected, the set list was excellent, the DLC library at this point was enormous and had almost every single song you could want (almost [fuck you led zeppelin]). It was a perfect storm of a rhythm game and I yearn for the days of the plastic instrument because of this game.
