During the Steam Winter Sale, I came across this game and was instantly reminded of a Nintendo DS game. I was hit with a wave of nostalgia for a game I never heard of before. I could even imagine using a stylus to move around like in the DS Zelda games.
When I played it, I found that it was an extremely comfortable and cozy experience. This game is a combination of Celeste and Animal Crossing. Both A Short Hike and Celeste have the same overall goal: reach the top of the mountain. I would say even more so than Celeste, A Short Hike is about the Journey rather than the destination. The title of the game isn't a lie; the actual hike to the top is extremely short. The point of the game isn't the hike itself, but the things you discover and do on your way to get there. A Short Hike is the perfect "comfy" game to just relax to, and I will be playing it again to complete everything in the game.
