What led me down a Sonic rabbithole as of late was this video called 'you've only played 25% of sonic 3' or some shit like that. Basically it said the game shouldn't be speedrun and you gotta play for points and explore the level in an 'optimal' way. That's total bullshit and you should just play how you want, but this is what they were trying to nail with the previous Sonic games, a great balance of exploration and speed. It's not a perfect game; a few of the zones are meh, the levels go a bit long sometimes and Knuckles' playthrough,despite being a big selling point, is disappointing and feels a bit unfinished (though the final boss is awesome). Nah, if you're playing this, go Sonic or go home. Tails is also here, I guess
