Motion controls and Sonic should not go together.
That being said, I do enjoy the story of this game with the relationship between Shahra and Sonic and Erazor Djinn serves as the perfect antagonist for this game.
The ending where Sonic owns Erazor Djinn after making him bring Shahra back and return the world to normal still gets me.
I just wish I didn't have to sift through shitty gameplay in order to achieve that.
