although i grew up with this game and i cherish it deeply, it just does not compare to arkham city. combat simply feels unfinished, and while i don't blame this game, it does still suffer for it. a bite sized, less polished arkham city. the scarecrow stuff is fun, but that's all this game has over the rest of the trilogy. asylum's biggest strength and weakness is its sequel. lead to one of my top ten games of all time, but falls short itself. an ok time, but all you'll be able to think is "i could be playing arkham city instead"

I agree City was certainly an improvement upon it, but I'd still say it's great for what it is

The biggest attraction for me is that it has many of the original voice actors from the 90s TAS series. Especially Mark Hammel as the Joker! Such an iconic voice that he uses for it and loved his return in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

I mean, the combat was improved in City, but Asylum's was much faster and enjoyable in its own right. It's also disingenious to say the Scarecrow sequences were the only thing better than City- the story, as a whole, was a lot more compact and thrilling than City's, which suffered from the Jeph Loeb problem of stuffing too many villains into its plot.
