Metroid as a series has been more successful and popular, but damn does it feel good to play a Metroidvania that throws in RPG elements to spice things up.
I mean Castlevania has had more games and a hit netflix series. Not sure why you think it's less popular and successful? What metrics are you judging that on out of curiosity?
