had lots of fun with this game on its initial release!!
(was the main game that I was looking forward to after it's announcement alongside Isabelle in smash in 2018)

I loved acnl and city folk and really just wanted animal crossing back in my life for the nostalgia, but honestly, I just felt really burnt out after a month of playing. The endless customization was really nice for the game but it quickly felt like there was a lot to do, yet nothing to do at the same time.

It began to feel more like a building sim than a social sim, which really sucked cause one of the key highlights of the past installments was the funny interactions with the villagers (and the villagers felt like they had very little dialogue variation in new horizons). There wasn't any satisfying growth in the town like acnl had, everything is kinda just already there.

It's still an animal crossing game though so the comfort and heart are still there for sure, it's just that the overall game feels empty.
