God, even the credits were tedious.

All jokes aside, there’s a lot to like here. At times, the level layouts brought me back to childhood memories of being in the backseat of the family minivan, playing the original Sonic the Hedgehog on the humongous SEGA Game Gear.

Which is to say, still somewhat frustrating but overall, a never-ending barrage of speed, color, and sound. I think this newest entry perfectly captures that emotion while simultaneously managing to unfortunately maintain modern Sonic’s inability to find proper footing in a truly “great” game.
