I played this game only because Vyse from Skies of Arcadia is in it, so I could unlock and play as him. It's fun with friends, played it with two other people in the family to get him, has some unique gimmicks and was unique enough from Mario Kart, I still prefer MK Double Dash as a racing game though personally.

I did like the different modes this game had though, like the boost challenges and rival system that was like F-Zero 99, those were unique spins and good modes to make the game play differently in fun ways. This game also gets an extra half a star just for having Vyse in it.

Vyse is really a major selling point, considering such a great game. More people need to play Skies of Arcadia!

@TGA_backloggd Definitely! I've been watching my roommate play it lately and it looks so good, Vyse is an amazing protagonist. I hope SEGA ports the game to modern hardware someday, but sadly I don't know if it'll ever happen given how niche the game is and how not great the company tends to be these days

I played it myself a while back: https://youtu.be/Lu-iPgYwhlc Though I really wanted more, you know? Also I totally agree, too many companies these days would prefer to reproduce that kind of crap that they know sells, like with Call of Duty and such, squeezing it out for all there is in the hopes that they can keep perpetual money going, when it's a end-game impossibility.

Would've thought SEGA would be better since they went from hardware to purely software, but nope.

@TGA_backloggd Yeah, you'd think, but sadly no. It's a shame, very few companies with real passion and true genius in their games nowadays like what Skies has from what I've seen. One of the only other instances I can see of that nowadays is stuff like the FF7 Remake trilogy or Dragon Quest, but otherwise... yeah.
