Picked it up for Nostalgia, and at first was disappointed that it didn't hold up, but then as I kept playing it really blew me away. It's colorful, it's a long platformer worth the money, has fantastic puzzles, and honestly blowing shit up with bombs never gets old. I think the soundtrack sucks, and the continue/reset thing is old school and annoying, but honestly hard to find a flaw here other than it ended. I think quick save function like in New Super Mario would have been good, sometimes the levels are so long and i want to go to bed but you have to finish or start over, a quick save that lets me save my spot and immediately quits would have helped alot. The charaboms also don't really matter that much and the battle is so random.

Honestly i don't get the hate towards this game, I think it marries original megaman and the network games amazingly. Now the difficulty is high which I love, but part of that difficulty IS in some wonky mechanics here and there I agree. But I haven't played this in 15 years and picked it up and I'm addicted to it, it has great platforming, the cards are a great substitute for megaman weapons, soundtrack rocks, and the RPG elements of upgrading your health and buster, and maps to find secrets in is all awesome. I think the issues are - i don't like continuing making you reload the game, a lot of old games have this problem. I wish the chip load out were slightly less random in some way, and the boss battles move so quickly and range from very easy to insane - with few in that middle ground of difficult but fun like Needleman and Fireman. I think it could also be a prettier game, and all the text is pointless, but it's honestly a great megaman game

The first two monkey island games are 2 of my most favorite games. I love point and click adventures, and I know they're out of fashion, but it was so exciting to see the original creator back after leaving the second game on a cliffhanger. The game has such great art, characters, so funny, challenging and thoughtful, I'm sad it was short, but like all the Monkey Island games it had a level of heart and poetry to it that most games wouldn't dream of. A welcome return I can't wait to play again
