A very cute spin-off of the main series. The art style is adorable and is creatively used in the level design, the music is very chill, the levels still managing to be engaging despite their easier difficulties. My favorite world is the space one, there’s a lot of cool level gimmicks in that one. The transformations you get are also very cute and help mix up the gameplay. The story is very dumb and silly and I like it a lot because of it. The narrator in the cutscenes and the art style help give it a storybook-like feel to it.

My only gripes are that some of the transformations are kinda irritating to use (by some I mean that DAMN TRAIN) and 100% is obnoxious to get. This game likes to do that thing where missing a collectible means that you’ll have to redo the ENTIRE level just for another shot at getting it. The challenges you have to do aren’t bad on their own, it’s just that there’s way too many of them. (30 race challenges??? WHY???????)
It’s not a big deal at the end of the day, since 100% isn’t a requirement, but as someone who likes to 100% their Kirby games, this stings a little.

Overall, this is a great entry in the Kirby series and one I plan on coming back to someday.
