When I started playing this game I was worried I had set my expectations a little high. I loved Persona 4, but I just thought this game couldn’t possibly match all the hype I’d heard about it. Turns out I was very very wrong.
This game is definitely a new favourite of mine. The story is great, the characters are fantastic (despite my initial impressions, I ended up loving almost all of them for different reasons), the graphics and general presentation are stunning, the combat remained fun and engaging after 100+ hours. And the music, oh my god the music. Probably among the best I’ve ever heard.
For me, the only very minor drawback was the new girl Yoshizawa. She too often felt out of place in the overarching story and I just didn’t click with her in the way I did with everyone else. And obviously the game isn’t perfect, it’s cheesy as hell and can be cliché and the writing is kind of underwhelming at times, but I loved every second of playing this and am already lining up my first replay. This was an amazing experience.
