Yakuza Games

Ranking of the Yakuza and Judgment games that I have played.

Overall It's just my current favorite, best gameplay in the series, and the story is one of the better ones. I can definitely see a future RGG title taking this top spot though.
This one gets too much hate but I really loved the story and atmosphere of this one, and I thought it was a great but somewhat flawed finale for the yakuza series up to that point.
I liked this game a lot, the gameplay improved on the last turn based game in every way possible, however the story has its ups and downs. If it had more time in the oven or had just doubled down and only focused on Kiryu I think this would be my favorite.
This was the refresh the series really needed, and while it has its flaws, the story and new protagonist was great, and the combat was pretty good for their first time doing something like that.
This used to be my favorite for the same reasons everyone had, however going back to it playing the rest of the series I find the fact the combo speed is tied to heat to be incredibly terrible so its hard to go back to this one. I still think it's the best entry point for the series overall though.
RGG always excels at short stories and this is no exception, however it still makes me wish there was more in this game. The combat is also quite good, but not as good as lost judgment, and the new agent style wasn't as good as it could have been.
This game is pretty mediocre for the first half, but the second half is incredibly good once all the story setup starts to pay off and you have a lot more combat upgrades.
Incredibly overhated entry in the franchise. While there are a lot of flaws I really liked the atmosphere this game had and it was really the most important game in the franchise in terms of what it brought to the table for the first time.
If this game was just the first and fourth part this game would be top 3, however it's brought down by part 3 and 5 being pretty mediocre and part 2 being pretty terrible.
A really solid DLC that could have been one of the best games in the franchise, but as it stands it doesn't really have enough content of its own to hold up compared to other games in the franchise.
I really wish I played the original instead of this remake. As it stands though I think this game is pretty alright, but the remake doesn't really do anything to make this stand closer to the more recent titles.
I'm not really sure why this game gets so much hype, the combat is worse than yakuza 6 despite being based on that game, and the story is incredibly goofy and hard to take seriously. I'm not really sure if the original would be much higher than this game If I beat it.
Easily the worst in the franchise. It starts out pretty alright but somewhere around halfway through part 2 the game just goes on a steady decline story wise, and the gameplay isn't really an improvement over 3 at all, if not sometimes worse than 3.
