Plays incredible for an NES game. It may look similar to the first NES Contra, but it just has a smoothness and flow to the gameplay, and cranks everything up to 11. There is just such a primal satisfaction to this game and it is just thoroughly fun throughout and never lets up from start to finish. I definitely prefer the top-down levels to the repetitive base levels of the original.
