Definitely the best version of this game. The improved skill trees were much needed, and the speed increase is always helpful.
The world of this game is stellar and beautiful, and I'm glad it was revisited over several games. The characters are all amazing, and the sky pirates motif is awesome. The gambits are a fun gimmick and the combat in general feels like a natural progression of the old Active Time Battle. My only gripe is that Vaan is a nothing character, the straight man who is the audience proxy to learn about the wider world, and in fact has little to no personal stake in the plot. Other than that I found it very enjoyable.
