in early access, it's more or less a solid foundation of mechanics that all play like in thief, except not as good, and also has much less variation: in tools, in ways to approach situations... nor does it add any new stuff that really stands out

didn't hate it probably because it's short enough, but if the whole game turns out like this, then eh

bruh the game plays almost as an open world, you have lots of freedom to approach situations

yeah but your arsenal being sword, pistol, shotgun... compared to something like thief (which the game draws heavy inspiration from, in all aspects): sword, blackjack, water arrows to extinguish torches, but not lamps (you can shoot some in gloomwood) moss arrows to move around silently in otherwise noisy surfaces, rope/vine arrows to add a lot of verticality and ways to more around, arrows that are especially noisy to distract, toxic gas arrows, flash bombs, gas bombs, mines... plus the levels themselves allowed many different paths and contained a lot of information for special paths to traverse them. and depending on difficulty some missions have a lot more objectives or even different ones and demand a whole new approach. or you can turn to games like deus ex or system shock where there's lots of freedom since how you build your character is how you approach the game. in comparison, having an open world where you choose what to do first isn't that preferable.
i know some stuff like the arsenal will change in the future: they've said they want to add weapons like a fishing hook and such, but at the time it's pretty barebones compared to other stealth games.
