I played the Royal Edition.
An homage to Ghosts n Goblins that takes 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Controls and mechanics have been greatly improved, as you can now FINALLY turn mid-air like every other platformer. You also have Arthur's double-jump and vertical aiming, ala the 16-bit games, and a ghost dog that acts as a satellite projectile. Where it fails, though, is in enemy and level design, which go for a more drawn out and dull pacing than GnG's short and tightly-knit dioramas. This wouldn't ordinarily be bad, but the game's timer is so short that you have no option but to shotgun levels that don't feel properly optimized for speedrunning at all.
I wanted to like this, and I admire the passion that was clearly put into it, but man, even after a full revision, it still feels bad.
