Possibly as mediocre as a horizontal shmup can get. Fairly tough, solid sense of progression and some very basic power-ups. Nothing really stands out about it.

You slowly make your way to the moon, you fight a lot of skeleton creatures. Some backgrounds are real nice, but on a system where every second game is a shmup it gets lost in the crowd.

My favorite shmup on the PCE that isn't Soldier Blade or Air Zonk. It doesn't do anything special outside of most of the bosses being skeleton creatures, with the grande finale being gasp a skeleton followed by four giant ass skulls. It gets points just for making me laugh...I suppose sometimes all you really need for a final encounter is the symbol of death itself.

Helps that it isn't brutally difficult like most shmups. I can see this being a game I pop in around Halloween alongside something like cotton for some spooky 16 bit fun.

An good little shoot'em up on a machine that hosted dozens. Good graphics and fast-paced action.

Average shooter. Nothing really makes it stand out from the pack. It's solid, just nothing extraordinary. Better than Phalanx.

Tenth GOTW finished for 2022. I actually enjoyed this one, considering shmups aren't really my jam. It didn't do anything that will stick with me, but the variety in powerups was fun and the game didn't feel overly difficult. Backgrounds were pretty, PCE has some great looking games.
