Dead or Alive ++ (Plus Plus) is an updated version of Dead or Alive released in 1998. It includes new characters, improved graphics, and unlockable costumes. The updated version also features remixed stage designs.

A vastly improved version of the original game that brings the series closer to it's full potential, as seen in DOA2.
Dead or Alive ++ is a solid upgrade to its original arcade version with updated graphics, new characters, and just way better controls. It might not be the most interesting or unique Virtua Fighter clone but it does the trick, the whole counter system works so much better here, it takes a few trials to figure out how it works but once you figure it out it's quite fun, in the original Arcade/Home Console version I just could not figure out how to do them properly but in this version, it just feels way nicer.
Obviously comparing it to its predecessor on the home console you'll notice it's lacking extra game mode and such, but I'd rather have a functional game rather than character outfits.
Definitely the best way to play the original version of Dead or Alive 1.
