Same as 1 Untold, this is a remake of EO2 from NDS, but unlike 1U, this version has more improvements and downsides. It comes with classic and story mode, and i must say the story of this title looks a lot more interesting than 1U did back in the day, but it comes with downsides

Due to the game being rebalanced around story mode, some bosses from certain dungeon will be a pushover as in the story you would be fighting them with 4 characters instead of 5 if you were playing classic. Stratum 5 is made to counter Fafnir knight, the main core of story mode and a class locked in classic until you beat the story, S5 should have been a challenge but since i was playing classic with my own compo it didnt felt different from S4 or S3, in fact a bit shorter

Thats all the downsides now lets talk about what makes this remake better than the original; FOEs give EXP, in original it was a waste of resources to even fight them. Class rebalances, not too hard like 1U did, but are welcomed specially for enemies. Actual fun gimmicks, if you know about Scylla and Juggernaug fight, yep, actually two of the most memorable fights. Foods, same as in 1U, now you have a coffee to manage, that means farm for food drops, craft food, develop the city, sell your food.... its cool and theres more than 50 food effects across all the game. Grimoires, probably the best mechanic in the game which was fixed in 2U to avoid grind fests, this is your bread and butter even from the beginning and its super satisfactory to use, later will be changed for multiclassing in 3 onwards.

Even with the downsides it is an amazing dungeon crawler and one of the best of the saga. I beat story final boss from S5 but will keep playing to beat post game bosses and secret boss, something 1U made me avoid at all cost. Good soup

one of the final bosses of the story mode (not the final final one) had me so bad i abandoned the game for 4 months and then very quickly realized that fuck this and cheated so i could max out every skill and make all the party members level 70, not much else cause i still wanted to engage with the game lmao (it still wasn't a complete walk in the park, but not "i'm killing everything in two hits" type of cheating) but outside of that it was overall very good and entertaining and the characters were good 👍

really want to like this more than eo1u but the bosses really fuck me up man. i love the labyrinth again and the story characters are solid and the party dynamic is great and the general game mechanics are still great but nearly every single boss in this game is a godforsaken trial and error disaster that made me dread every new boss fight instead of looking forward to what was to come. trial and error! in a game series where failure is designed to be a punishment! and for most bosses, the amount of trial and error you'd have to suffer through without consulting a guide is completely unforgivable. I used the wiki extensively because there is frankly no way I would have kept my sanity otherwise, and nobody should have to play this game without it. that all said, i still enjoyed the game a lot as a whole because thankfully there aren't that many bosses and many of them are technically optional. fuck ur-child 7.8/10

Nice to finally beat this one after all these years, I started the series with EO2 and it was very nostalgic for me.

Tardó dos años en salir de occidente, y yo otros dos en pasármelo de lo coñazo que me pareció.
