Awful, every fucking weapon does one of just three things (not hyperbole) but you have to replace basically everything between every mission because they get power crept like crazy, which means that if you don't get enough money you basically get softlocked and if you do you spend more time going through menus than actually playing the game, every enemy has five body parts, it's random which one your unit targets which makes every fight horribly RNG-reliant, nothing's worse than blasting away at an opponent and only hitting their legs or just not doing significant damage to any part, then they retaliate and destroy your best weapon arm or hull, it's really unclear how character-building works (I think I accidentally built some of my characters wrong but the game doesn't really tell you that they even have unique biases and specializations, you just have to fucking guess), most mechanics are never communicated to you (did you know that the lighter your mech is, the higher its movement? i sure didn't, i just learned it in a fucking gamefaqs post), and at the end of all of this the actual gameplay just breaks down to "make all your dudes attack one of the bad dudes at once until he dies"

Maybe I'm mad cause bad or whatever and all of this is par for the course for an a game of its time but that doesn't make any of Front Mission any fun at all.

The base game is still great, and the graphics are better than the remaster lmao, but man is the second campaign harder than i wanna deal with right now

One of the best strategy RPG's of all time. Truly a miscarriage of justice that we only got this in North America in 2007. Game was amazing for the SNES and is even better here.

Paso de jugar de nuevo con Royd, así que mi opinión del jogo va por la ruta de Kevin

This strategy RPG felt dated even in 2007, and insufficiently updated from the SNES iteration. Still, the modern-day, realistic techno-thriller setting is great and still rare (aside from the other Front Mission games and a few other notable series like Ace Combat). The gameplay, with separate damage for each area of the mechs, is also still fairly unique and has been built on competently in the Front Mission sequels.

Still worth playing, if only as a prelude to later games in the series.
