I've only played it a few hours so far but it's about what I expect. You upgrade your mech in various ways to make them more powerful, and you choose missions from a computer list. You can find parts during missions but also buy or upgrade them, although I haven't delved much into the upgrades part yet as I've just started.
So when I got this game I had done my research and knew what to expect, but I was very surprised by some of the low scores on here.
Is it the best strategy game I've ever played? No, but it does a lot of things really well too. I'd say it's about an 8/10 if you go into it expecting a meld between a strategy rpg and a normal strategy game like civ where you can take over (and lose) cities. I like it a lot. I'm typically a fan of games that try to marry two different genres. In this case obviously it's a safe combo but I do enjoy it none the less. Have played it about 30 hours. If you don't like turn based strategy games you won't like it. It's also a pretty expensive game on the switch so make sure you're going to like it before you do buy it lol.
