I'm confusion. I played this on the Saturn, and I'm pretty sure it has a PS1 version as well, yet there's only a Super Famicom option?

Anyway, great, great game, and a massive improvement over the first one. Not only do we have a bigger roster of characters, all with their own unique moveset, but there's instant respawn as well. God bless the person who added it, since the original desperately needed it. The levels are just gorgeous to look at, too. I could stare at this game for hours, trying to find every little detail hidden in the background; it just makes the game feel so much more alive.

Difficulty, enemy coreography, and level design are also big steps up. I really don't want to spoil anything, so if you are curious about how much more fun this game is compared to the first one, just play it and see it for yourself!

AND you can play as one of the bunnies from the first game now? absolute gaming

I'm tired of pretending that shmups are not the best video game genre, suck it RPG's.

Jikkyou Oshaberi's constant references spoiled me, I felt a little underwhelmed by this after seeing the pedestal it's placed on. Sorry I didn't vibe with it.

Probably the best of the trilogy of SNES Parodius games. There's not really a lot to say about them though, at least not this and the first one. They're just...nice shmups, pretty much. I do like how many playable characters are in this one. It definitely doesn't need the double digit amount that it has, but it's cool to see nonetheless.

For sure the best one. You can play as Goemon! He shoots his golden pipe and bombs and his options are little maneki-neko!

Played PSP compilation which is a port of the arcade version

Third in Parodius series. PSP compilation ports the arcade version of the game, with some licensing issues that caused two tracks to be changed. Eight characters with their own look and shot and bomb styles and upgrades. Less stages than the previous game but good quality in being both humorous, referencing other shooters, and adding different enemies and mechanics. Koitsu's bombs are well detailed with stick men parachuting off of the paper airplane and react differently based on the location or terrain that they land on, walking forward on ground, landing in an inflatable raft on water, dancing in the club, running in the faster moving race segment, etc.

Found some hit box detection questionable, but don't know how much of that was character related to playing as Koitsu.
