A kabuki warrior steps into a time portal to go back to the Shogun dynasty to defeat the evil lord Kabuki. The game is basically a side-scrolling beat-em up game, with the player controlling the kabuki warrior. The player can deliver kicks and punches to hordes of enemy minions throughout each stage. Other moves at the the players disposal are jump kicks, the ability to lift enemies and throw them, and the ability to grab enemies and spin them like a tornado. The player can also use a special magic power that gets charged by picking up scrolls throughout the level. The player can also find life bar refills throughout a stage also.

Doing the Sonic spin dash into a screen clearing unstoppable sliding dive kick is certainly one way to get me to keep playing.

I can't believe Shigeru Miyamoto ripped off of this game to make "so long gay bowser".

This is pretty okay, although nothing to write home about. Feels like your punches have more...punch to them, than some other beatemups. The soundfont is interesting too, featuring prominent use of what sounds like whistling that I haven't heard on many other Genesis games. On the other hand, the game really doesn't do much with itself at all, and some bosses are kind of bad. It locked a final level behind hard mode, which I'm never really a fan of, but when I looked at it it was just mostly rematches including the true final boss, so for now I decided I wouldn't really bother. Not much is brought to the table here all in all, but it's okay as a whole at least.

A solid beat em up but with not enough to make it stand out. This game is rare and rather expensive so emulation is the way to go. I sold my copy and I'm glad I did as id rather take the 200$ over an alright beat em up. The kabuki theme is pretty cool tho.

A bit slow and repetitive. Your moves have really strong priority and beat out most enemies, so the challenge comes from crowd control and positioning. The throws are really fun to use against enemy waves too. The first weak point is the boss fights, most of them are pretty bad; level 4's boss is just 3 minutes of jump kicks on loop. Enemy and stage variety is monotonous.
