Picked it up but the difficulty made me drop it after a while. I thought it would be more like Dark Souls but it seems I was wrong.

I tried the coop, it was terrible, might go back to it one day

This game... Just clicked for me so perfectly. It is a super fast-paced game with satisfying combat and controls. The variety in weapons is the star here, and not since early ARPGs have I been so invested in loot. The sheer amount of content is staggering, though you are easily able to do 100% in one playthrough (with a few replays of missions). The Japanese setting is also a big selling-point for this game as well with the locations and enemy designs being so unique and fun and different than the vaguely European fantasy most soulslikes have.

As someone who doesn't really like souls-likes I was shocked to find out how much I ended up loving this game, combat is fast, deep and very satisfying, the level design is well thought out and I'm a sucker for the Japanese yokai aesthetics.

It might have been the first time I got so frustrated by a boss I gave up on the game. And it was the second boss.
