The game is at its best when the player isn't, well, playing. So, the combat is kinda clunky and somewhat repetitive. Granted, Sekiro is probably fav game, and since the similarities are glaring, I can't help but to compare one another.
Also, what in God's Earth was that last boss? While other bosses were a walk in the park, that last boss was the unfunny kind of hard. He just spams abilities which force you to run with little windows to get some attacks in. Also, just to add salt to the wound, because I'm a true greasy gamer, I didn't want to use any consumables, since I thought 1) I thought they weren't refillable, which apparently they are, at least according to the VODs of people playing against Marshal and 2) the game wasn't designed with the idea the player had 10 extra lives when fighting against bosses. So, basically, I was of the impression the game was designed - and balanced - around the player only having one life. Needless to say, I played extremely passively as to not lose any HP.
Having all of this said, I'd be remissed if I didn't mention the cheer meme potential this game has, while at the same time also having a solid story, with great villains. Furthermore, it just straight up appeals to that naruto lover, high testosterone teenager that just looks at a guy running down a building while dodging derbies and thinks "yeah, that's bloody rad!".
Decent 7
