I used to play a lot this game, I'm a bit sad it's so bad rated :(

I don't want the Card Fighters series to end here, because this is a HUGE step down from the previous two games. The big gameplay changes mean that rushing with the cheapest cards is the best strategy for most CPU matches. Even if you get more cards and try to do anything fancier, the new cost system makes it slow and boring to try. Also, the HP and attack power are split now, taking away a natural balance the previous games had.

On top of that, the AI is dumb and sometimes won't notice that it's actively losing. What a disappointment. The locations in the game are restricted to a single tower, that's all you get for an in-game world this time. There are less cards this time, and less variety too. And then some characters get multiple cards, up to four, for some reason, so it feels less varied somehow.

At least the art is nice... it's not quite as vibrant as the border-breaking sprite art of the previous games, but at least it looks mostly good. Though, the cyberspace grid background on most of them is kind of distracting.

Jueguecillo de cartas muy largo y entretenido.

I like the novelty of collecting SNK and Capcom cards and it plays okay but everything around it is pretty bad. It's very low budget and it feels like it. I also remember at launch there was some kind of game breaking bug that prevented you from even completing the game. If you got it you could send your copy in for a free replacement but at that point just don't bother it wasn't worth it.
