The game features two immediately playable craft: Nym's starfighter, "The Havoc", which features heavy armament as a bomber, and Adi's fighter, which features force powers such as lightning and force shield. There are also nine unlockable craft which can be played on any mission: the X-wing, Tie fighter, Reti's advanced Zoomer, Adi's advanced Jedi starfighter, Saboath fighter, Jenkin's advanced Freefall, Nym's advanced Havoc, a Republic gunship, and Jango Fett's Slave I. In addition, with the code "headhunt," the Z-95 headhunter can be unlocked.

The first game was better. The Story is that Adi Gallia is set to test out a new Starfighter prototype as she parts for a mission to help the Republic, while helping out Nym from the first game, who now had his base taken by The Trade Federation meanwhile, an evil Captain plans to make a weapon to help the Federation out in an upcoming conflict, this story is better in concept, but not as good as the first game's in execution, it's not bad, but it isn't as engaging as before, the characters don't have to work off each other for things to get better, all things go as expected, and the Nym annoyed about working with a Jedi doesn't last long, also Vana suddenly returns near the end for no reason, and Reti disappears without us knowing what happened to him, like as if they were planning on a third game that never happened. The Characters are the same from the last game, but now with Jinkins, a smart concerned Bith, Orsai, a cocky captain who is this team's new Rhys, Kole, a very loyal and capable demotions expert to Nym, and the evil Captain Toth who wants to annihilate his enemies at any cost, his personality doesn't range much outside of that though, characters seen in the movies are the same, but Adi is given more of an helpful, and respectable personality, and Mace Windu's voice actor sounds nothing like Samuel L. Jackson. The Graphics are only slightly better from the first game, but that's not a bad thing, as the first game was good with graphics, and so is this one. The Gameplay has you shoot waves or enemies, or destroy things to help the mission out, in the new Jedi Starfighter, this is also gameplay from the first game, and is good to see it return, as it is what people buy to play, and the only problems with it are the same as the first game's, no lock on, no ally health bars, and restarting the whole level again if you die. The Music is same from the movies, like the first game did. Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter fails to surpass the first game, and didn't do enough to create a third.

Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter has been on my to play list for as long as I can remember and this was me only getting around to playing it. For a PS2 game it plays pretty well albeit quite basic. I played up to mission 4 and then threw in the towel after dying at the end of the mission causing me to start the mission all over again. It’s not a bad game. I just can’t be bothered having to replay a whole mission because I died, plus I thought that the game isn’t going to offer me much more than it has already.

The game has nothing on the Rogue Squadron series which I grew up with. In that game you really felt a dynamic range of movement with your ship. Rogue Squadron also had amazing music and the ability to select from many ships from the Star Wars franchise at the time.

Again, it’s not a bad game. Quite enjoyable, it just doesn’t do anything to stand out or be a game that excites people that don’t have nostalgia for it. Rogue squadron at least had a lives system for missions where as this game sends you right back to the start and, “Ain't nobody got time for that”

Surprisingly fun space shooter. Has some hiccups such as poorly mixed sound design and some barren landscapes, but I do think the space flight was so simplified that it became a great arcade shooter experience. It's only a 5 hour experience and each level breezes by all the while you do simple objectives. I found it quite addicting to take enemies down and the dialogue is well done. I can also appreciate some depth added to Star Wars side characters even if the plot is like pretty basic. It's a solid good time, which is all I want out of my Star Wars space shooter.
