Bio
I host a podcast called Dragoon Effect. It's an audio only let's play that cares about your mental health. I keep a list of the games I have played on the show (ranked by episode order). Every game has been completed or is actively releasing episodes. It drives me bonkers when podcasts abandon games without providing some kind of conclusion and I never want to do that to my listeners. I also do an annual awards show with lots of guests!

I have not played a wrestling game in over a decade. I had a lot of fun with this. I cannot tell you how it compares to other WWE 2k games, but the wrestling generally felt pretty good and not button mashy.

I watched Troytle Power's preview of this on Troytle Power Presents the Power Playthroughs Podcast featuring Troytle Power. I did not realize how fun this would be. It seemed neat, but difficult (like Ninja Gaiden). There are four difficulties, so even someone inexperienced can play through the whole game and work on getting better.

You play as a robot ninja who is the world's last contingency, a continja if you will (hehe, I stole that from the game). You gain power-ups in tiers that work kind of like Mario going from small to big to power. You get a jump jet (double jump) first, then a ninja star that flies around and you can recall, then a dash blade. If you get hit, you go down one level of power up (on casual, you do not lose any, on harder difficulties you lose all). If you have all three abilities, the next powerup makes you move faster.

You unlock a perpetual extra life just for finishing a stage. If you finish it fast enough (all except final level are under 4 minutes) you unlock an ability (such as starting levels with the first/second/third power up level). If you finish beating the fastest time (all except final level are under 2 minutes) you unlock additional abilities (like triple jump).

This was such a fun game and I got 1000/1000 achievement points in about an hour.

This game suffers from what I'll call the "Red Dead Redemption 2" effect. Things take way too long. Menuing is slow af, but so is the whole game. This game is designed to waste your time. Thankfully, you don't have to bend over to pick up every single item. There are too many side quests that just have no real payoff. Every time the game does start to do anything interesting, it backs off of it and undoes it. I really enjoyed the weird/altered stuff in Remake. I was hoping for more of it or something bold. They did round out a few places, but every time they did, they added so much padding that just slowed the game down. Any time the story would start to get interesting, they would bring the game to a complete stop. Instead of making the mini games fun, they added too many and made them all kind of bland.
I'm still going to play the third one, but wow does this game just want to waste your time.
