I just wandered around and killed rats in random people's homes

Put this on because I'd heard of it but didn't know what it was, and now I know

A complete remake of a titanic series, The Bard's Tale: Trilogy follows the winding paths that the three previous installments had laid out. It's a question of returning to the overwhelming difficulty of the games of yesteryear, whether it's in terms of combat, dungeon exploration or cryptic puzzles. Fortunately, the remaster couples its aesthetic update with a few ergonomic options, such as automatic mapping, absolute saving and the notebook: veterans wanting to rub shoulders with the atmosphere of a bygone era can nevertheless play with the Legacy Mode, which is a direct port, except for the harmonisation of gameplay across the three games. As such, it is really pleasant to be able to link the different adventures directly and to better feel all the references made between the games and with the fourth opus. In the same way, the redesign of the Dreamspell quest is an addition and well in the spirit of the remaster. Despite the salutary additions, we can regret some acute difficulty peaks, which force us to do some tedious farming sessions. Krone has thus managed to pay a vibrant tribute to the original saga, not losing a drop of what made the charm of the game, while making it accessible enough for 2018 players.

old and it shows. for dungeon crawlers like these, i have little to no patience, and the dated design turns me off a lot.

Good game to throw on while you idly talk due to it's somewhat simple, yet engaging nature. It's definitely not going to be for most people though because you really have to use your head to conjure up most images/action(although the environments are super well done). I'm still too scared to turn auto map off and probably never will.
