Fifteenth GOTW finished for 2023. One character playthrough is really short, but there's a bunch of characters to start with and a surprising amount of depth for a two-button fighting game. Simple but cutesy art. Always fun to get a little NGPC gameplay in here and there!

It do be the last blade but on neo geo pocket color. Like any other NGPC fight game conversion this game is a solid time, though good luck finding someone to play with, especially if you are me

I love how Moriya's entire design philosophy is being as cool and broken as possible. I almost did a fucking Tod with Speed Moriya and oh boy that felt good.

Will update my thoughts when I unlock Setsuna.

Honestly an amazing experience for what it is. The art is wonderful, both cute and affectingly gorgeous, and it plays pretty smooth once you get used to it. One of the best parts for me is the progression system actually, where you literally unlock the second game's story after beating the first game with all characters. I feel like you don't see a lot of that in this kinda game! Beyond that, all the characters play just like their arcade counterparts, and the stages are rather lovingly recreated as well. Big props! Big recs :)
