The Lost Vikings

released on Apr 29, 1993

The Lost Vikings is a puzzle-platform video game developed by Silicon & Synapse (now Blizzard Entertainment) and published by Interplay. The game features infinite opportunities of retries in case the player loses one of the Vikings. In 2015, The Lost Vikings were added as a playable hero in Heroes of the Storm, allowing players to control the three Vikings as individual units, making a unique departure from the typical heroes available. Character abilities: All three Vikings (Erik, Baleog and Olaf) have three health points which they can lose by getting hurt by enemies or by falling from great heights, and the ability to carry and use items, mainly keys, bombs, and food (which restore health points). Each of the Vikings has a unique set of abilities: Erik can run faster than the other two, can jump, and can bash through some walls (and enemies) with his helmet. Baleog can kill enemies with his sword, or from a distance with his bow (and a "life-time supply of arrows"). The bow can also be used to hit switches from a distance. Olaf can block enemies and their projectiles with his shield, and use his shield as a hang glider. Olaf's shield can also be used as a stepping stone for Erik to enable him to reach higher ground, which would not be possible without the shield.

The Lost Vikings on the SNES is a charming and surprisingly tricky puzzle-platformer. You switch between three Vikings – Erik the Swift, Baleog the Fierce, and Olaf the Stout – each with unique abilities essential to reaching the end of each level. It's got a great sense of humor, the pixel art is lovely, and figuring out the solutions is so satisfying. However, some later levels get incredibly difficult, and the lack of password saves might frustrate some players.

Efectivamente son Vikingos, pero creo que están menos perdidos que yo

Very charming, clever, and cool game. But also really tedious and frustrating

A fun little game that was requested, you play as a group of three vikings who are abducted by aliens and then have to find your way out of the different levels that you get thrown into, getting every viking to the end, using all of their skills.

You have a short and fast guy who can do really high jumps, a large fat one who bears a shield that can block anything and can even be used to float down and a muscular one with a sword to smash things and enemies.

Combined, their skills are needed to progress through the increasingly difficult stages to operate switches and buttons to unlock the exist to the next stage. All the while attempting to survive to the end.

The game has a cartoon design that works with the fun sense of humour this game gives out. Certainly worth checking out if you're interested in a fun puzzle-platformer to take up your time.

Haven't played since I was real young, so my rating is purely based on my memories of how much I liked it then...
