Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble ditches the side-scrolling beat 'em up style of its predecessors for a chaotic four-player party game. While it retains the series' signature cel-shaded comic book visuals and over-the-top action, the focus on flashy brawls over strategic combat can feel shallow. The unlockable characters and minigames add some variety, but the core gameplay loop can grow repetitive. Fans of the original Viewtiful Joe might be disappointed, but for those seeking a wacky party game with a unique visual style, Red Hot Rumble offers some manic fun.

This game is a visual nightmare, the screen is so cluttered with objects it's hard to see what's happening. The action is constantly broken up by poor mini-games that essentially are nothing more than mindless button mashing or simon says. Skip this one.
