An interesting take on the formula but besides nostalgia, it is a mediocre RPG that is not interesting at all and is rather boring.

none of you understand what it feels like to go into this game blindly and read "Actually, Henry Tudor is my name. But I find it tiresome. You may call me 'Yugi'" for the first time. the WHIPLASH. i felt like obelisk himself had punched me in the face. a truly amazing game, that's for sure.

All the other older Yugioh games that are just regular simulations of the card game using the contemporary, shitty, vanilla monsters aren't nearly as rewarding as this unique game where you get to move around all those iconic shitters, who are fully rendered in glorious 3D and battle each other in what can only be described as sublimely surreal cutscenes. God, I wish I lived in the 15th century, when duel monsters were real.

It felt cool to be playing a Yu-Gi-Oh video game, but the odd translation of the card game to strategy video game had a lot of awkward moments - including games that you could only win by running out the 99(?) turn limit - and the difficulty felt very punishing. Loved the overall aesthetic though.

Fun to play with buddies. Story's not great but I don't think the game intended to focus on it so that's fine. Duels are fun.

One of the best Yu-Gi-Oh Games that is not a 1 to 1 translation of the Trading Card Game.
