YuYu Hakusho: Makyou Toitsusen is a 1994 fighting game for the Sega Mega Drive by Treasure made with the Yu Yu Hakusho license — the second such game, after Nextech's adventure game Yu Yu Hakusho Gaiden. Interestingly, TecToy published the game in Brazil as YuYu Hakusho: Sunset Fighters, however the game has not been released elsewhere. M.I.J.E.T. fan-translated the game to English in 2007. The game is a 4-player fighting game. A and B attack and C blocks, with various combos along the way. Up jumps.

Just play Heritage to the Future instead

this is a very sleepy joe fighting game

I’m working retail for shit pay at a Christmas store in Downtown Chicago. It sucks. I don’t have the rent money. I need an overnight job. I’m sick of needing help from dad, I wanna carry my own weight as a man. I made a bunch of cuts into my arm a few nights ago, it stings when my sweater grazes it.

I played this game on my 30-minute break this morning. It was raw. You can charge the spirit gun when u fire. The stages look great. you have a dodge button and can dash. Plenty of attacks. Great sound design REIGUNREIGUNREIGUMREIGUN. It made me laugh. I was less tense afterwards. I love Yu Yu Hakusho. I hope I can also enjoy 120%. it looks cool.

You can use Hiei's dragon on himself to power up like in the manga, 10/10
also YYH > your favorite manga

i was on my monthly listen of YYH intros/outros and had to check out the games. lo and behold, a treasure-made YYH fighter. it's real simple and short. you got an arcade style mode where you're just running through the cast. decent looking stages and music. gets the job done if you're looking for a YYH game to play for a little bit.

It's a fun fighter that I enjoyed as a big fan of the anime it's based on but I think it could be improved by having a reference to the Chapter Black Saga where if you beat your opponent as Kurama, they die in real life

Treasure never misses? Not a whole lot of content in this game, just a rather quick and easy arcade mode with a handful of characters. Much like how McDonalds Treasureland Adventure felt like a prototype concept for what would later be fleshed out as Dynamite Headdy, Yu Yu Hakusho Makyo Toitsusen feels like a prototype concept of what would eventually become Guardian Heroes on the Saturn. The multiplayer battles can support up to 4 players with multiple planes to jump back and forth between (think something like fatal fury). Some of the characters are broken and the multiplayer can be a bit mindless but I think it'd be good fun as a party game on the mega drive. While this certainly won't absolutely shatter your world like Alien Soldier or Dynamite Headdy, this is still a solid little fighter on the mega drive.
