This game possesses an unmatched atmosphere, and it's probably the pinnacle of the Metroid series. Riley is an iconic villain, and Samus is someone that many other video game heroines should strive to be. Exploring the planet feels almost real considering it's a 2D game from many decades ago: the music and the way the gameplay presents itself are fundamental in this regard. You, as the player, are as lost and on guard as the corageous, but in peril, protagonist.

A classic but one that could be a bit more polished when played on something that isn't the original hardware it was designed for.
