Always felt like a better, more complete version of Melee, really appreciated the bigger character selection that introduced me to some of the monsters from movies I never had access to back in the day.

A sequel which takes all of the strengths of the original and only adds more, even going as far as to make Mothra playable. This game is one of the very few reasons I had something other than a Gamecube as a kid.

you can play basketball in this

Now that, my friends, is an improvement! Still the best Godzilla game ever made.

Played few rounds of this recently and it fucking rules and holds up well. Give us another Godzilla fighter please

I have nothing but love for this game and Destroy All Monsters: Melee. One of the best games of my childhood.

Godzilla is a cool guy, he stomps, shoots pure radiation, and just goofs off! What more can you ask for?

There's a basketball mini game

"Godzilla Saves the Earth" as in you throw every building on the map at your enemy.

Fore real though, this is my first Godzilla fighting game and it's super fun to play. Monster combat is smooth but the weird thing about it is that it has an actual strength and weakness system for certain elements like nuclear and shock. Character roster is the best too and I love the inclusion of some cool units like Jet Jaguar. This game is an always will be a classic next to Godzilla Monster Melee.

If Godzilla did indeed "Save the Earth", then the next game wouldn't have happened

Crazy how this game is 20 years old and not a single Godzilla game since then has been even half as good.

i like that you're big and destroy things until they collapse or stop moving it's great for the nerves and gut health i think

the bigger roster is what gives it the edge over the gamecube one. you can’t find a better godzilla game period this IT here baby
maybe this game changed my life in some small way

The game that made me fall in love with the monster-verse.

It is janky, but there is a large amount of charm to that jank. It features a lot ofclassic monsters, all full of personality and able to crack a smile to your face. The goofiness of the combat combines with the party game-like energy of the matches lead to playing sessions that I remmeber fondly to this day.

There are also basketball minigames... don't question it.

It's a childhood classic of mine. I can't help but recommend it!

You get to play as giant kaijus beating the shit outta each other and that is right up my ally

Kaiju fighting game, not particularly technical but very fun and easy to pick up and play. Good roster of monsters who all look awesome and feel unique to play as. Most monsters need to be unlocked using points but this isn't difficult. Would recommend to anyone, even if you're not a Godzilla or fighting game fan.

I'm a huge Godzilla fan and this is one of the better games based on the series. There is lots of content, plenty of great characters, and fun gameplay. This is a great game for any fan of Godzilla.

still the best Godzilla game all these years later. tons of monsters, modes, an arcade-game esque story. it's sick.

An awesome party game. I love that each character has a pretty unique moveset, you can tell a lot of thought was put into making this game.

Not even God could have predicted what this game did to me.

I played through 1 full campaign of Godzilla, and touched a couple of the smaller ones, was great to relive the game I grew up playing. Hope for a port or remaster one day!

I didn't watch the WWE. I played Godzilla. A staple of my childhood.

I beat easy mode a few times to see if I can unlock new characters and maps but it'll take a long time to do that so imma just hang it up here. The game itself is okay. I had some fun beating other monsters up, the variety is there and they look cool with special powers. Some of the side content is whatever. Dodgeball and Basketball are cool to have, but the whole Alien Invasion stuff felt very unnecessary. I could see myself playing a match or two in the future maybe.

6.3/10

I feel watching AVGN and James & Mike praise the Pipeworks godzilla games set my expectations far too high going in, thinking they would be THE definitive godzilla hidden gem games. They're no doubt good compared to most of the other godzilla games, with plenty of cool kaiju-characteristic abilities such as picking up buildings and throwing them at enemies, but the singleplayer experience here is somewhat underwhelming. Survival mode is rather boring, Most of the challenge minigames save for basketball and ufo ones are genuinely painful, and getting points for unlocking stuff is tedious (apparently you have to beat the campaign with different difficulties and characters, i can't 100% verify, but i'm pretty sure on my 2nd playthrough as Megalon in normal difficulty i didn't get any of the unlock points i scored, then on my third playthrough in hard i did)
They're just fun party games for local multiplayer or for beating the AI, and that's it. Save the Earth is probably the most polished and content-rich of all the three games.

PD: I'm not usually a framerate elitist, but i heavily suggest avoiding the PS2 versions of these games. They play like fucking slideshows. I legit started hating this game a lot less after trying the xbox version with an actually playable framerate.

The greatest fighting game to ever be made. The likes of which we will never see again.

This one is good but clearly they were rushed to fuck because some design choices they made are baffling specifically with the Challenge mode

My first contact with Godzilla and other Kaiju, what a game. Also played it in BnW for the most part.
