Not actually the totally unplayable disaster i expected. Don't get me wrong, it's far from a good game. At best it's mediocre. But at times it is fun in a totally mindless way. It kinda reminds me of stuff like Commanche 4 in some ways, flying high above and raining down hell on everything below.
It has that budget-game feel. It looks like crap, all the detail is in the Iron Man armor while the rest looks cheap and ugly. It does have actors from the film half-heartedly voice-acting, but the story is terrible. Like alot of these movie-based games it's a poorly-written retelling of the film. I am kinda curious to check out the sequel, because i do feel that with more polish, like, a lot more, this could actually be pretty fun.

Before the time of the MCU, Robert Downey Jr. was still cheap enough for video games. Man have time changed.
I recall enjoying this game but never finishing it and I can't remember the gameplay so it must have been bad.

A forgettable and unenjoyable game, only giving it high marks because very few games come close to giving the player a similar "Iron Man" experience.
We all have those few games that we like that are universally accepted to be shit. Maybe it is the fact that this introduced me to the MCU, maybe it is the Black Sabbath playing in the background.
I agree that the mechanics are shit, I agree that the story is a bastardization of the iron man movie.
But what can I say, younger less critical me was willing to overlook anything to fly around in an iron man suit with good music in the background.
I love it but I have restrained my rating a little to acknowledge the problems with the game and I absolutely do not recommend it to anyone unless its for a kid who is a fan of superhero, so he can remember it with smiley nostalgia decades later :')
